Diver injured at Lake Karapiro

A 21-year-old Auckland man suffered suspected neck and spinal injuries when he dived into Lake Karapiro on the Waikato River yesterday.

A spokesman for the Rotorua-based Tenon Rescue Helicopter, Barry Vincent, said it was believed the man struck his head while diving into the water. He was airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a comfortable condition.
