Police dive teams will be searching the waters around Miramar peninsula over the coming weeks as they continue to search for clues around the killer of Rongmei Fan, who was known as Mei.
Ms Fan, 37, was violently stabbed in her home on Brussels Street in November, but police have yet to arrest anyone over her death.
Detective senior sergeant John van de Heuvel says Mrs Fan's killer may have dumped items after leaving her address and police are keen to track them down.
"These items may include things like hats, gloves, wigs footwear, clothing or even items stolen from her home."
Anyone who may have noticed any unusual items around the Miramar Peninsula since November is being asked to contact Wellington Police.
