If you are looking for a safe family event packed with entertainment for children then you won't want to miss the annual Spectacular Fireworks Display at Solway Showgrounds tomorrow night.
Masterton Host Waipoua Lions club is hosting the annual event with bands, sideshows, foodstalls and "plenty of family entertainment" with sponsorship from the Wairarapa Times-Age and More FM.
Club past president Colin Hendry said it was about providing a safe place for people to celebrate Guy Fawkes; which the club had been doing for the past 20 years.
The event is not for fundraising.
"It's about putting on an event that is safe and gives families the opportunity to experience and see a lot of fireworks on display ... I'm sure it is something that the citizens of Masterton really enjoy," he said. "People get injured and it scares animals to death but this way it gives people the chance to see a great display without all the hazards."
