A heavily-disguised man threatened a Tauranga service station attendant with a blade before making off with cash and tobacco last night.
The man - armed with a knife, screwdriver or similar weapon - threatened the sole male attendant of the Mobil station on the corner of Cameron Rd and Tenth Ave about 9.30pm.
He stole tobacco products and an undisclosed amount of money from the till, Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier of Tauranga CIB said.
The attendant was not harmed.
The man, of slim build, was wearing a dark and light coloured striped hooded jacket, a dark coloured scarf pulled over his face, dark coloured pants, and white track shoes.
Police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or who was in the area at the time.
