A man charged with destroying the front entrance of Christchurch's Inland Revenue Department offices as a personal protest was remanded until next week, when he appeared in Christchurch District Court today.
David Jerrold Theobald, a 47-year-old English-born ex-employee of the department, said he smashed his car through the glass doors after a three-year employment dispute, Christchurch Court News reported.
The attack took place at 6.30am on Saturday, August 15.
He entered no plea to a charge of intentionally destroying three glass sliding doors intending to cause loss to the department.
Theobald was remanded on bail to September 9.
