Jailed former MP Phillip Field was released on parole today after serving a third of his sentence for bribery and corruption.
The former Mangere MP was jailed for six years in October 2009 after he was found guilty of 11 charges of bribery and corruption and 15 of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
He was the first MP to be jailed for bribery, corruption and perverting the course of justice.
Field was granted parole earlier this month and was released from prison today.
He would now be dealt with by community probation services, a Corrections Department spokeswoman said.
