KEY POINTS:
Fiji's Constitutional Office Commission says it will review the appointment of Auckland lawyer Maurice Coughlan as the nation's elections supervisor, because it was unaware he had previously been disbarred in New Zealand.
Dr Coughlan told the Fiji Times newspaper he had been disbarred in 1992 in relation to personal commercial transactions and was later reinstated to the roll of barristers and solicitors in 2002.
His three-year appointment to supervise the first general election since the 2006 coup was announced last week.
