Diplomat to head iwi talks

Former diplomat John Wood has been appointed the Crown's lead negotiator in talks with Wanganui iwi on the settlement of historical claims, Treaty Negotiations Minister Chris Finlayson announced yesterday.

Dr Wood twice served as ambassador to the United States.
