Highway police and a clean-up team have been dispatched to a diesel spill on Mt Messenger in Taranaki.
The spill, on the northbound stretch of State Highway 3, was about 1km from the top of Mt Messenger on the New Plymouth side, the Automobile Association reported. The spill was about 2km long.
Police were notified at about 9.45am. The cause of the spill was not yet known.
No accidents have been reported, although drivers are advised to exercise caution.
