KEY POINTS:
District Health Boards are getting tired of pharmacies charging people extra to dispense their prescriptions.
Nelson-Marlborough DHB spokesman Mark Garisch says pharmacies have refused an offer of extra pay, in favour of retaining their so-called 'blanket' charges.
Some are charging patients an extra dollar on top of their subsidised fee, despite the offer of a two per cent increase.
Mr Garisch says pharmacists are expected to encourage public access to heath, not put up barriers to it.
