Police have set up a base on a Christchurch property which has previously been of interest in the death of Mellory Manning.
The police, believed to be investigating the murder of Ms Manning, have set up a temporary investigation unit at a derelict Avonside property.
Newstalk ZB report a police caravan control unit has been driven onto the property at Galbraith Ave. A number of detectives are on the site and at least two police dogs are in vans.
The site has previously been of interest to police investigating the death of sex worker Ms Manning, whose body was dumped in the Avon River two years ago.
Ms Manning, 27, was found by a kayaker near Dallington Terrace, east of the city centre, early on November 19, 2008.
She had suffered extensive injuries and police believed she was dead before being put into the river.
