Designer backs activists

Fashion designer Annah Stretton says she supports animal rights and finds any cruelty to animals repugnant.

Her comments are a response to criticism this week from the Auckland Animal Action group, which singled out Annah Stretton in protests at Fashion Week in Auckland.

But Annah Stretton said she sourced possum fur from tanneries that followed humane purposes.

"Ironically, I fully support AAA's call to ban the use of leg hold iron traps in New Zealand ... "
