A new deputy state services commissioner has been appointed following the resignation of Laurence Millar last week.
State Services Minister Tony Ryall today announced John Ombler would replace Mr Millar.
Mr Millar stepped down after an independent inquiry into the handling of the failed Government Shared Network (GSN), a secure computer network connection between crown agencies.
Mr Ombler, who has been acting deputy state services commissioner since July 1 last year, would also continue to lead the corporate services branch, Mr Ryall said.
Mr Ombler has worked in the public service for 34 years and, prior to moving to the commission, worked as a general manager in the Department of Conservation for 20 years.
