Residents of a suburban Napier street are being terrorised by a violent criminal after he was kicked out of Australia, a court has been told.
Bruce Ngaronoa, 34, was deported in July 2008 over a string of convictions, including armed robbery and assault, The Dominion Post reported.
He then returned to Napier to be near family.
Ngaronoa yesterday pleaded guilty in Napier District Court to aggravated robbery, possession of a weapon, disorderly behaviour, making threats and three charges of wilful damage.
Last November he went to a skate bowl wielding a golf club, broke a man's nose and stole his necklace.
The following month he assaulted a prison guard.
A man who lives in the same street as Ngaronoa said residents were being terrorised.
The man's car tyres had been punctured with a screwdriver and Ngaronoa had threatened to burn his house down.
Ngaronoa was remanded in custody to reappear next month.
