Signal disruptions were causing trains to and from south Auckland to run late this morning.
Ontrack spokeswoman Jenny Austin said commuters can expect a five to 10 minute delay this morning but the problem should be fixed by this evening.
She said about 250 metres of track had been re-laid over the weekend at the Remuera bridge and this had caused problems.
"It went fabulously well until last night when they were putting the final touches in. They couldn't get quite back up to the standard to make it safe for trains to run fast," Ms Austin said.
