Motorists are being asked to avoid State Highway 2 near Wellington's Manor Park, following a two-car crash this morning.
Police were at the scene where wreckage was causing traffic delays.
At least two cars were involved but no injuries had been reported, police said.
Cars were able to get through the scene however there was still a large back up of traffic as a result of the incident.
Motorists were advised to delay travel for a while or take the alternate route along the Eastern Hutt Road to avoid this area, police said.
