It's been a bad start to the day on the Kapiti Coast where two early morning crashes near Paekakariki have caused injuries and delays.
Minor injuries have been reported in a three-car nose-to-tail on State Highway One just before 6am. The southbound lane was blocked for a short time, backing up traffic to Waterfall Rd.
Tow trucks are at the crash scene and commuters are being asked to be patient and expect delays.
An earlier crash at the same place closed the road for about an hour from 4am.
