An 18-year-old tramper suffering from dehydration and a fever was airlifted from the Kaimanawa Ranges at 4pm yesterday.
The Rescue Coordination Centre in Wellington was alerted after an emergency locator beacon was activated and the patient was flown by the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter to Hawkes Bay Hospital.
The tramper was on a school trip with a group from Hastings.
