KEY POINTS:
A High Court jury today watched a video-taped police interview with two 14-year-olds on trial over shooting at police in Mt Maunganui during a dramatic late night chase last June.
One youth, charged with attempted murder, has already pleaded guilty to three firearms charges.
The other faces counts of being a party to attempted murder plus three charges of being a party to using a firearm against police.
Other matters relating to the incident are before the Youth Court.
The accused, both now 15, watched the video intently, sitting as far apart as possible in the dock.
At times they grinned at what they had said on tape.
The Crown has concluded its case and at lunch Justice Raynor Asher was hearing legal arguments.
Neither Tony Balme nor Craig Horsley - who represent the youths - will call evidence in defence.
They will sum up this afternoon.
The jury is expected to go out tomorrow, after the judge's summing up.
