Legal arguments about a series of applications relating to the retrial of David Bain on charges of murdering five members of his family have concluded in the High Court at Christchurch.
Justice Graham Panckhurst reserved his decisions and ruled that the submissions and the nature of the applications could not be reported.
He told media that he would indicate what could be reported at the time he released his decisions. It was hoped that some of the rulings would be issued later this week.
The legal arguments began at 10am on Monday and finished after less than an hour of court time this morning.
This has been the third of a series of pre-trial arguments about the retrial in which Bain will face charges of murdering his father, mother, two sisters, and his brother at their family home in Dunedin in 1994.
He was freed by a Privy Council decision last year, after he had served 13 years in jail.
