KEY POINTS:
The Kizashi 3 that was flown from Moscow for the Sydney show is the latest of Suzuki's mid-size concepts, and close to its final form says Suzuki Australia GM Tony Devers.
Devers, who flies to Japan next week to see the car in production form, says it will be a sporting-flavoured competitor to Mazda's 6. The concept is powered by a 3.6-litre V6, and uses a six-speed paddle-shift auto and 4WD.
The Kizashi, which takes the brand up a segment in a market increasingly dominated by smaller cars, goes into production in October next year and arrives Downunder soon after.
And it better had, or else there will be ructions is the impression Mr Suzuki Australia gives. Customers not wanting an SUV are limited to small cars or competitor brands, and he's keen to keep them in his showrooms.
Suzuki is talking about a range of engines, initially that 3.6 V6 and a 2.4-litre four, and prices from the high 20s to low 40s, 'but anything could happen."
