Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 16-year-old girl who was pronounced dead when she arrived at Whakatane Hospital last night.
Police said the girl lived locally and inquiries were continuing at her home.
The cause of death was not yet known and a post mortem would dictate the direction further inquiries would take.
