The death of a man found in a car parked at a Hamilton East shopping centre was not suspicious, police say.
The body was discovered by a member of the public in a silver Toyota Celica about 7am at the Clyde Shopping Centre on the corner of Clyde and Grey streets.
Detective Sergeant Ricky Thompson of the Hamilton CIB said the post-mortem examination on the body, carried out in Auckland today, combined with examinations of the scene and vehicle had not found any suspicious circumstances requiring further investigation.
He said the matter has now been referred to the coroner.
Witnesses told the Herald the man, said to be in his late 20s or 30s, had been seen in the car park over the past two weeks.
