Body found in South Auckland River
Police are treating the discovery of a body found submerged in a river in South Auckland yesterday as suspicious.
The body was found near the township of Clevedon by a kayaker.
A post mortem was to be carried out this morning.
Police said the body was believed to have been in the water for about two weeks and they were checking missing persons files.
They are also urging the public to come forward if they know of any missing persons who have not been reported.
Woman found dead in her Papamoa home
Police are treating the death of a woman found in her Papamoa home as suspicious.
Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier of Tauranga CIB said police were called by a neighbour who was concerned about not seeing the woman for several days.
When police entered her house they found her body.
"A number of issues relating to the scene and the woman's death are of concern to investigators, so at this time the death is being treated as suspicious," Mr Brazier said.
Local and Auckland-based forensic experts will carry out a scene examination today.
The woman will be named when her next of kin have been notified.
Police recover man's body found near Kawau Island
Police have recovered the body discovered in the water near Kawau Island, in the Hauraki Gulf.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A police spokesman said the 66-year-old man's body had only been in the water a short time when it was found by a yachtsman on Sunday afternoon.
A ketch belonging to the deceased was located, Mr Loughlin said.
A post mortem was expected to be carried out this afternoon.
The man's name will be released when next of kin have been advised.
Missing woman's believed found dead
A body found in bush in Titirangi yesterday is believed to be that of Belinda Michelle Wilson, who has been missing since January 2.
The 39-year-old Titirangi woman had a history of mental illness, and police said the death was not suspicious.
The body was found during a renewed search for Ms Wilson, involving police, Air Force personnel and civilians.
Police say they will release further information this afternoon.
