The man accused of careless driving causing the death of Shirley Mareikura appeared for a second time in Masterton District Court yesterday and has yet to plead.
Daniel Lloyd Sawkins, 25, appeared before Judge Barbara Morris and was represented by lawyer Susie Barnes on behalf of Jock Blathwayt.
Ms Barnes said Mr Blathwayt had received disclosure from the police but it was around 500 pages including the crash report, and he needed time to go over it with his client. Judge Morris remanded Sawkins at large until October 27.
Shirley Mareikura, 44, known as Kizzy, died on May 20 after being thrown from the Toyota Starlet she was travelling in, when it hit a bank and flipped on to its roof, 700 metres south of the summit of Mt Bruce.
