Property owners who suffered damage in January's Eketahuna earthquake have fewer than two weeks to lodge claims with the Earthquake Commission, the organisation says.
Earthquake Commission (EQC) national operations manager Barry Searle said the April 22 deadline was non-negotiable.
"Meeting this claim deadline is important because the EQC Act doesn't give EQC any discretion. If you don't make your claim within three months of the earthquake that caused damage to your building, contents or land we can't accept your claim."
More than 4800 claims have been lodged with EQC in relation to the January 20 quake.
So far, $870,743.95 has been paid out, with $508,633.35 going to claims from Tararua, $18,946.65 for damage in Manawatu, and $57,607.36 for claims from Palmerston North.APNZ
