The mother of a teenager who was fatally beaten at the Otara Town Centre at the weekend will speak publicly today about her son and how the family are coping.
Riki Harry Mafi died yesterday morning from injuries received during the attack.
The 17-year-old was found unconscious and lying in a pool of blood by a security guard after being beaten about the head with a metal baseball bat.
Riki lived with his aunt in Otahuhu and had left school.
Police are still hunting four men in their late teens or early 20s who were seen with a baseball bat chasing two other young men shortly before Riki was attacked.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on (09) 295-0200 and ask for Operation Galaxy staff.
