Police withdrew a charge against a man of breaching a protection order by presenting a former partner with a dead cat in a box when he appeared in the Christchurch District Court today.
Riki Maurice Timblick, 36, had been warned by a judge at his last appearance to take his medication as directed and attend appointments as directed by Mental Health Services.
Although the charge has been withdrawn, the police are continuing with a firearm charge, possession of cannabis and five charges of threatening to kill.
Timblick is pleading not guilty to those charges and was today remanded on bail to a status hearing on November 1 by Judge David Holderness.
