KEY POINTS:
The 11 jurors deciding if Antonie Dixon is guilty of murder had to delay deliberations briefly today - while one juror took her child to a daycare centre.
In an unusual move, the juror had her child in court yesterday and for part of today after the jury retired to decide if Dixon murdered James Te Aute and caused grievous bodily harm to two women with a samurai sword at Pipiroa, near Thames, in January 2003.
When she left the High Court at Auckland today to take her child to a daycare centre the jury continued deliberations.
But Justice Hugh Williams instructed that all 11 jurors - one was discharged earlier - must all participate in the discussions about the charges Dixon faced.
He said while the juror was away they could discuss anything including rugby, but not the case.
The jury began deliberations at 3pm yesterday after Justice Williams completed his summing up at the end of the five-week trial.
The jurors retired to a hotel for the night at 9.30pm and began their task again at 9am today.
