Davis eyes national title

Featherston kickboxer Kirk Davis is to have a second crack at winning a Muay Thai national junior title on Friday night.
Davis lost to Sam Hill of Auckland when fighting for the crown last year but with Hill now too old to hold the title, it is up for grabs.
A bronze medallist at the 2010 world championships, Davis will seek redemption against fellow New Zealand rep Ambrose Mataio, also from Auckland, in what should be a highlight of a Muay Thai tourney being staged at the ABA Stadium in Auckland.
