A 13-year-old girl missing for more than a week has been found after her family made a desperate appeal to get her home before Christmas.
Jacinta Tulafono was last seen on Saturday, December 14, at Mt Albert train station.
This afternoon police spokeswoman Noreen Hegarty said Jacinta was found at an address in Otara today. She is said to be safe and well, and expected to be returned to her family home later today.
Her family, who had been handing out flyers in an attempt to find her, set up a Facebook page in which they appeal for any information as to her whereabouts.
"We are so worried with sick and fear; my daughter doesn't have a cellphone, so please pass this onto her; please come home Jacinta if you are out there, we have been praying for your protection."
