Shrek the merino will lose his woolly locks next Wednesday.
The renegade sheep shot to fame after being caught by musterers on Bendigo Station in Central Otago last Thursday after six years on the run.
He is now set to lose his 27kg fleece at the hands of 14-times national open shearing champion and 15-times winner of the Golden Shears, David Fagan. The fleece will be sold to raise money for the Cure Kids cancer charity.
