KEY POINTS:
A date has been set for a depositions hearing for a young woman accused of killing a 15-year-old Matata girl in a drunken hit-and-run incident in August.
Karma Jasmine McIvor, 22, of Te Teko, appeared in Whakatane District Court today and was remanded on continued bail until November 12 for a depositions hearing into charges of drink driving causing death, drink driving causing injury and failing to stop to ascertain injury.
All evidence will be presented in hand-up form.
The charges, to which McIvor has pleaded not guilty, relate to the August 21 incident in Matata, in which McIvor is accused of striking Stevie-Rae Marks, 15, her 13-year-old sister and 15-year-old friend with her vehicle and then fleeing the scene. Stevie-Rae was killed instantly.
McIvor is alleged to have had a breath alcohol level almost twice the legal limit.
