A couple charged after a woman's body was found in a stream near Auckland will stand trial more than two years after her body was discovered.
Joseph Proude, 46, and Here Teinakirai, 52, will stand trial in the High Court in Auckland charged with manslaughter and offering an indignity to a human body.
They were charged a month after the body of Patricia Joseph, 37, was found on January 20 last year in the Wairoa River near Clevedon, southeast of Auckland, weighed down with a rock and wrapped in bed linen.
Detective Sergeant Mark Gutry of Counties Manukau police said a trial date of February next year was set when the men appeared in court today.
