A fire at a Dargaville fertiliser plant has been contained and has been brought under control by the fire service.
Fire chief Jeff Palmer said a small sulphur fire broke out in one bunker and had created a lot of smoke and fumes.
No surrounding businesses in the Edward Street industrial areas needed evacuating.
Eight appliances attended the blaze.
