KEY POINTS:
A Dannevirke man exposed his erect penis to an unsuspecting woman in the hopes of raising money to pay off a prostitute.
Matenga Timoti Mason, 25, a sickness beneficiary, pleaded guilty to indecent assault and obscene exposure when he appeared in Dannevirke District Court yesterday.
The court heard that at about 4.20pm on October 2 Mason knocked on a stranger's door and when the 49-year-old woman opened it he began begging her for money.
He asked if he could go inside, if there was anyone else in the house, and if she had a husband before stepping closer and asking if he could "show her something", the Manawatu Standard reported.
He then put his hands down the front of his trackpants and began flicking his tongue around.
Mason told the woman his gang was after him for not paying a prostitute and would slit his throat if he didn't come up with the money.
When she refused to let him inside he said "I want to show you something...I want to show you this," before displaying his erect penis.
Judge Gregory Ross remanded Mason on bail until December 15.
