A "dangerous" man thought to have been on the run after escaping from a Dunedin psychiatric hospital has been found.
Police were searching for Vincent Clayton believing he had escaped Wakari Hospital just after 2pm on Friday.
He was considered dangerous and members of the public were warned not to approach him.
Senior Sergeant Darryl Lennane, Southern District Command Centre, said Clayton was found at 7.45pm on Friday evening.
"He was found within the facility and had not left the premises."
