Police have caught a man in Canterbury after earlier warning he was dangerous and should not be approached.
Police yesterday called for sightings of Raymond Hemi, 23, who was last seen in Rangiora about 12pm.
He was possibly attempting to hitchhike to Ashburton, according to police.
Police said Hemi was located in Christchurch this morning.
He is now in custody, but has yet to be charged.
