Visitors to Muriwai are being asked to avoid the southern end of the regional park where storms have destroyed pathways to the beach and left sand cliffs with 10m sheer drops to the sea.
The Auckland Regional Council says people risk falling or further damaging vulnerable dunes and should instead use the northern car park or Coast Rd to get to the beach.
