New Zealand skipper Grant Dalton and his crew of the giant catamaran Club Med have won the non-stop round-the-world race.
Dalton and his 12-strong crew crossed the line in Marseilles at about 9 am today to a rapturous welcome.
Thousands lined the street of the city in Southern France to welcome the winners and hundreds of boats swarmed out onto the water to meet them as they sailed in.
The Club Med crew took 62 days 6 hours 56 minutes and 33 seconds to complete the world circut, the fastest in history by nine days.
