Revenge will be very much on their minds when Dalefield shape up to Victoria University in a Wellington premier division men's hockey match at Clareville tomorrow.
These two sides met in the first series of games for the 2011 season and a poor first half and an even poorer last 15 minutes saw Dalefield suffer a 4-2 defeat.
Coach Willie Schaefer is confident of a different Dalefield squad taking the field tomorrow, not in terms of personnel but in attitude.
"Nobody needs telling we let ourselves down last time, we're all determined not to let it happen again," he said.
However, Schaefer is not underrating a university side that has a couple of international players and is adept at capitalising on opposition errors.
"They are quick to feed off your mistakes, they can turn defence into attack very quickly," Schaefer said.
"A tight defence is important, you can't afford to give them space"
Schaefer also wants Dalefield to stay structured on attack so that the likes of Jesse Workman and Todd Gould can strut their stuff up front.
"We've got plenty capable of scoring goals but we have to give them room. We don't want to rush things because that sort of game will suit them more than us".
