Dalefield Hockey Club will celebrate their centenary over Easter weekend with more than 100 people, including several from overseas, expected to attend a series of activities which will run through Saturday and Sunday.
Organising committee chairman Harry Murrell anticipates the centennial dinner to be held in the Dalefield Hall on the Sunday evening being the highlight of the celebrations.
"There will be a lot of reminiscing going on there, it should be great fun," he said.
Registrations for the centenary will be taken at the Dalefield Hall on Saturday morning with memorabilia, including many photos, from days gone past sure to attract considerable attention.
So will the action in two matches to be played at Clareville on Saturday afternoon.
These will see the current Dalefield men's and women's Wellington premier division competition teams taking on invitation sides consisting of past Dalefield premier division players, many of whom are still active in the sport at a high level.
It will be back to the Dalefield Hall on Sunday morning for the taking of photographs over the various eras and then on Sunday afternoon those attendees keen to strut their stuff will be able to do so at Clareville, safe in the knowledge that any feeling of thirst will be able to be quenched at the centennial dinner that evening.
