Dalefield men's hockey coach Craig Nielsen was left rueing his side's inability to make the most of their scoring chances after their 2-0 loss to Hutt in a Wellington premier division game played at Clareville on Saturday. Nielsen was pleased with the number of times Dalefield broke open the Hutt defence, but frustrated they could not get the ball into the back of the net.
"We attacked really well at times, but we didn't have the intensity required once we got into the circle," he said. "I'd hate to think how many good opportunities we had to score?to finish with nothing in that respect was very disappointing."
One Dalefield player who did impress though was goalkeeper Alan Brady who pulled of a number of fine saves during the course of the match.
The Dalefield women's team was missing seven of their regular players when they took on Victoria University in their premier division match in Wellington but they did well to share the honours in a high scoring encounter, drawing 4-4.
