Semifinal seedings have been confirmed for the Wairarapa division one women's hockey competition.
At the conclusion of the round-robin series it is Dalefield on top with 31 points, followed by Featherston on 26, East Coast on 19 and Red Star on 18. Missing out on the top four was Red Star White who secured just the 3 points.
Dalefield clinched their number one spot with a 4-2 victory over Featherston on Saturday. They were ahead 4-0 at halftime, at which stage they seemed set for a comprehensive win, but Featherston made a late charge in the second half. They scored two goals in that period and kept Dalefield scoreless.
Dalefield's Kelly Govan - the Wairarapa Hockey Association executive officer - was hospitalised with a suspected snapped Achilles tendon.
In Saturday's other game, East Coast easily beat Red Star White 7-2. The semifinals will see Dalefield playing Red Star and Featherston up against East Coast. These are likely to be played on September 11.
