Disregard the points table when assessing Dalefield's prospects of beating Hutt in their Wellington premier division men's hockey match at Clareville tomorrow.
With Hutt sitting second on 26 points and Dalefield sixth and last on 9 points the odds would heavily favour a comfortable Hutt victory.
But Dalefield player-coach Willie Schaefer says his camp are confident of a strong showing.
"We believe we can win, it's the only result we want."
Dalefield did beat Hutt by a decisive 5-2 the first time they met this season, but Hutt struck back, winning their second game clash 8-0.
Schaefer said the Dalefield success came on home territory and his side were aiming to take advantage at home tomorrow.
"Wellington teams hate coming over the hill, they dread the thought of playing us at Clareville," Schaefer said.
That said, Schaefer is well aware of the importance of Dalefield starting strongly and taking an early lead in the hope of creating extra panic in the Hutt ranks.
"We can't let them dictate, we have to be calling the shots," he said.
Whatever the final scoreline, though, Schaefer expects tomorrow's game to be an entertaining spectacle, with both teams playing the same attacking style of hockey.
"We're both prepared to take a few risks in trying to score goals so there should be plenty of action."
