Dalefield women's hockey coach Andy Wilson wasn't mincing words after his team's 2-2 draw with Eastern Hutt in their Wellington premier division women's hockey match in Wellington on Saturday.
"It was a poor effort on our part??very poor," he said. We probably only played about 10 minutes of good hockey in the whole game."
Wilson said Eastern Hut had adopted a physical approach and Dalefield had not responded well to it.
"They were things happening like our players being pushed off the ball and we didn't react. We let them dictate how the match was played and there's no excuse for that sort of thing," he said. "Sure, we were missing a couple of our regular players but that's no excuse either. It was just a bad game, simple as that."
Centre half Olivia Pearce was one Dalefield player to escape with her reputation unscatched and the same could be said for hard working left half Taasha Henson.
Both Dalefield goals were scored by Ana Playle.
