Dalefield will be hoping for an improved performance when they play Northern United in a Wellington premier division men's hockey match at Kapiti tomorrow.
Their last four competition games have seen Dalefield lose all four and concede 24 goals while scoring just four but they can take hope from their last meeting with Northern United, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Overall, however, the form of Northern United is far superior.
They are sitting in third place in the second round competition table, their 13 points placing them below only Hutt (19) and Victoria University (15). Hutt City are fourth with 10, followed by Indians 4 and Dalefield 2.
The big test for Dalefield will be to slow the progress of possession to a Northern United attack, which generally makes the most of their scoring opportunities, and to provide their own forward line with enough quality ball to stamp their mark on proceedings.
