Dalefield coach Lance Hare warns he will be ''kicking butts'' if his team fails to earn points from their Wellington premier division men's hockey match with University at the National Hockey Stadium in Wellington tomorrow.
Hare has respect for a University side that has picked up some notable acquisitions this season but, after watching them lose 2-0 in opening matches a fortnight ago, is confident a Dalefield team playing anywhere near their potential have the beating of them.
''Put it this way: there will be some butt kicking done if we lose,'' Hare said. ''Frankly, it's a game we should win and it will be disappointing if we don't.''
Hare was pleased with how Dalefield stuck to their game plan in their 1-1 draw with a strong Harbour City Tawa side in their first-up encounter and said the same structures would be in a place for tomorrow's game.
''We don't have to change anything major, just do a little tweaking here and there,'' he said ''It was a good start and it's just a matter of building on it.''
There is a possibility though that Central Districts rep Jesse Workman will be swapped from his usual striker's role to the midfield at some stage of tomorrow's match with the idea of adding extra flair there. If that happens, the speedy and unorthodox Willie Waitere will come off the reserve bench to play up front.
Hare has no doubts about Dalefield's attacking ability, saying Dalefield's defensive line-up, which includes the Masons, Chris and Greg, Willie Schaefer and Orin Lockyer would compare favourably with any in the premier division grade.
