Former dairy owner Pravin Kumar Patel, extradited from Australia to face 25 tax fraud charges, was convicted yesterday in the Hamilton District Court and sentenced to nine months' home detention and 300 hours of community service.
He owed $148,620 in income tax, GST and overpaid family support tax credits.
