A Tauranga father and daughter accused of being involved in drug importation and distribution ring, which may have international connections, have had their court cases administratively adjourned until next month.
Consultant Gary John Read, 44, faces charges of importing the Class B controlled drug ephedrine into New Zealand, possession of ephedrine for supply, conspiring with his daughter Kahsharn Oriini Read, 24, to import the drug and possession of methamphetamine for supply.
Ms Read is jointly charged with conspiring to import ephedrine into New Zealand, importing the drug, and supplying ephedrine.
The charges stem from a joint investigation conducted by the Organised & Financial Crime Agency, Tauranga police and Customs.
Both defendants had been scheduled to appear in Tauranga District Court today but the matters were adjourned until November 23.
